The Little Mermaid is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The film stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder, Awkwafina as the voice of Scuttle, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Art Malik as Sir Grimsby, Noma Dumezweni as Queen Selina, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. While the other player was selecting a word we could be planning our next move, but there is the risk their selection might ruin our plans.Ĭheck out the teaser trailer for The Little Mermaid, the upcoming live-action reimagining of the animated musical classic. The multiplayer is amusing but it seems like it would have been even more engaging if both players were using the same board. If you have two copies of the game you can set game rules like time limit and score goal, but if you're game sharing you'll have to stick with the conditions the game gives you. Then there is the single- and multicart multiplayer which finds two players taking turns finding words on their own boards in a race to a predetermined score. It's a different way to play Bookworm and ends up being a lot of fun. Unlike Classic mode, where you can take as much time as you like finding the highest scoring word, here the clock is ticking and you have to act fast. In the new Action mode, certain tiles start to smolder and will catch fire unless you use them in a word pronto. These amount to little more than backgrounds for the game, but it's a nice goal to work towards. By finding all the words in a book you'll unlock new rooms in your house. Words like "hat," "tie," and "boot" are all part of the Clothing book, for instance. There are loads of special words to be found, collected in books of similar prose. It will remember the longest words you've found as well as the highest scoring.
Bookworm DS tracks a bunch of stats like your total points from all games, average word score, and the total number of tiles used. So that's the classic Bookworm formula but there are some new bells and whistles and a new action mode here that really turn the heat up. If you ever get stuck you can always shuffle the game board, but this will result in more fire tiles being thrown into the mix. You'll want to use these burning tiles in a word as soon as possible. These will burn through the tile below them with every word you make, and if they reach the bottom of the playing field they will burn your library down and end the game.
The dangerous Fire Tiles will eventually do you in – it's only a matter of time. By reaching score milestones you'll progress to new levels that will throw new types of tiles at you.
